When the British colonized Australia, their methods were influenced by their ethnocentric views of the Aboriginals causing conflict between the two cultures. The British viewed the First Australians as unmannered humans who had no respect for such great people. The Australians were still in their time which was when they followed their native lifestyle. The British soldiers were elegant people who had followed what they were told, they always respected their leaders and lived to the British expectations. Such views of the First Australians showed the ethnocentrism of the British because the First Australians were shocking to the British as they were so uncivilized, they were like wild animals. From this ethnocentric viewpoint, conflict resulted between the British and the First Australians, the British were thought that the Australians had no or enough power to control the British, which ment they did whatever they wished and did not want the Australians disturbing or ruining their plan, if the native members tried, they were prosecuted. The British should not have disturbed the Australians peaceful land as all it would do is cause war.
